Vitalise
Vitalise is a national charity providing quality breaks for disabled people and carers in the UK and Europe, and holidays for visually impaired people worldwide.
Vitalise operates five beautifully located, purpose-built, fully accessible UK Centres:
- Vitalise Churchtown in Bodmin, Cornwall
- Vitalise Jubilee Lodge in Chigwell, Essex
- Vitalise Skylarks in Nottingham
- Vitalise Netley Waterside House in Southampton
- Vitalise Sandpipers in Southport
The ethos of a Vitalise break is freedom and choice. Our guests have the freedom to relax in friendly, comfortable surroundings or choose from a wide range of activities and excursions throughout the year, with evening entertainment laid on. Over 25 different Experience Breaks focus on popular pastimes and activities, together with special weeks for people with Alzheimer's and their husband or wife, or family member.
Vitalise Jubilee Lodge, Vitalise Netley Waterside House, Vitalise Sandpipers and Vitalise Skylarks are registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). Vitalise breaks offer genuine peace of mind by providing care packages tailored to the individual needs of guests, including 24-hour care on-call from experienced nursing staff, with the personal support and companionship of volunteers.
Vitalise Churchtown specialises in accessible activity and adventure breaks for adults, children and groups with physical, sensory and learning disabilities. The Centre takes full advantage of Cornwall's rugged countryside and coastline and its 12-acre site includes a nature trail, climbing tower and zipwire, as well as a working farm and heated indoor swimming pool. Two accessible self-catering lodges complement Vitalise Churchtown's extensive facilities.
For visually impaired people, Vitalise Holidays organises a huge number of holidays each year at locations around the world, offering activities as diverse as canoeing, skiing, offroad driving and opera trips. In 2009 we’ll be giving the opportunity to visit spectacular destinations, such as the Galapagos Island, Canadian wilderness, Jordan and Australia. So that the visually impired holidaymakers gain as much of the flavour and excitement of their holiday as possible, each visually impaired holidaymaker is accompanied by a sighted guide.
“The atmosphere at Vitalise is one of care and happiness, and there is always a lot of joking and laughter. If I could, I'd go back every week - it's the greatest holiday I've ever had!”
