Since October 1991 Access Travel has been serving the disabled community arranging vacations to various holiday destinations in Europe and Florida.
We offer a wide variety of accommodation from self-catering holiday homes in France to luxury 5 star hotels. Whilst not all of these properties have been designed for independent living they have all been inspected by a member of our staff to ensure that they meet the requirements of wheelchair users throughout. We can discuss each of them to ensure they meet with your particular needs. Most of the bathrooms feature wheel-in showers whilst hoists, showers chairs and other equipment can be arranged in most places.
Tenerife is one of our most popular destinations. The Mar y Sol complex has apartment style rooms on a bed and breakfast or half-board basis or the Hotel Noelia Sur offers 4 star accommodation in Playa de las Americas. Lanzarote, another of the Canary Islands, features a number of 4 bedroom villas with their own private pools or alternatively the magnificent 5 star Princesa Yaiza Hotel has luxury suites. Gran Canaria is a recent addition to our portfolio, offering a selection of quality accommodation.
Majorca features half-board properties, whilst we can offer a beautiful villa with its own private swimming pool in the Algarve.
We offer several different options in mainland Spain – two excellent 4 star hotels providing half-board accommodation situated directly on the sea front in Fuengirola and Islantilla. The Montana Sol in Torremolinos has been specially designed to welcome disabled guests and provides all meals including wine with your dinner.
In the eastern Mediterranean the Island of Cyprus has a good 4 star hotel in Paphos with an adjacent village complex adjoining it for those who prefer to self-cater. There is also the unique self-catering studios and apartments in the little village of Polis where all rooms have wheel-in showers and the swimming pool has a hoist for ease of access. In Crete, a recently opened hotel is designed round the needs of wheelchair users and provides a ramped pool and a gym with specialised exercise equipment. Both islands provide fully wheelchair accessible transfers and have plenty of equipment for hire.
For those who prefer to travel by car and ferry we can offer several wheelchair accessible gites throughout France.
For the more adventurous we can offer holidays in Florida visiting the many theme parks or a fascinating opportunity to enjoy a Nile Cruise on a luxury boat with the opportunity to visit the bustling city of Cairo with its famous Pyramids and the Cairo Museum with its priceless treasures.
Limited care and nursing services are available in Tenerife and Torremolinos. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available for hire in some resorts.
