Options Holidays
Welcome to Options Holidays, a not-for-profit organisation running escorted traditional-style holidays for adults with learning difficulties.
We run holidays throughout the year, in the UK, the Mediterranean and far-away places. All our holidays are different, aiming to meet our holiday makers' desires - sight seeing, relaxing by the pool or beach, evening entertainment, learning about the local area and cultures, theatre outings, excursions. Once on holiday our holiday makers are involved in deciding the type and nature of the outings and activities they would like to do.
The price of the holiday includes everything: meeting at the airport or hotel, sorting out medication, passports, luggage etc, flights, transfers, bed and breakfast with an evening meal and a packed lunch. We have trips out most days where transport and entrances are included. Most holidays include a show of some sort, and a meal out. Drinks are included with breakfast only; all other drinks are at the holidaymaker's expense, as are souvenirs, gifts, postcards (we help with writing them, if necessary) and other personal items.

An example of our British holidays are the holidays we operate in Bournemouth. We stay at the ever-popular Laguna Hotel, with its indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, games room and a colour television in every room. A full cooked English breakfast sets us up for our daily activities, with an evening meal at the hotel, and a snack lunch while we are out. We enjoy days relaxing on the beach, as well as activities such as an going to the aquarium, a boat trip along the coastline, a steam train ride, and perhaps a show at the pavilion theatre as well as taking in other local attractions. Every day we are off somewhere new, sometimes going to the world famous 'Monkey world' or the Tank Museum, whatever it is that appeals to our holiday makers that week. The evenings are busy as well, with live singing, comedians, disco dancing and bingo. This is an ideal holiday for people who like entertainment.
An example of one of our foreign holidays are the holidays we operate in Corfu. Here you can experience and relax in the world of the Greeks, on a holiday with a mix of relaxing by the beach or pool, taking in local atmosphere during the day and night. We will explore the area for interesting sights and take in a trip or two further afield, perhaps on a boat or by car or coach. A holiday designed to meet different needs, combining sightseeing and relaxing and evening entertainment. We stay at the fantastic Thomas Bay Hotel, one of our favourite destinations here at Options. This hotel is especially good for those with physical disabilities.
Our carers are available to the holiday makers at all times. The normal ratio is one member of staff to four or five holiday makers, but higher staffing ratio can be arranged if required. One-to-one support can be arranged.
Please note that transport to and from the venue or airport is not included. However, on some of our holidays transport may be available from a mutually agreed pick up point.
